Mismatched Season 3
Mismatched Season 3, released on December 13, 2024 in Netflix, continues the journey of Dimple (Prajakta Koli) and Rishi (Rohit Saraf) as they navigate the complexities of young adulthood, technology, and evolving relationships.
The story picks up three years after the tumultuous events of Season 2. Rishi is now working at the prestigious Nandini Nahata Institute of Technology (NNIT) in Hyderabad, where he’s deeply involved in creating an innovative virtual reality project called “Betterverse.” Meanwhile, Dimple, after facing a series of professional and personal challenges, joins the newly established LLIT (Life and Learning Institute of Technology), led by her former mentor Sid Sir (Rannvijay Singha).
Dimple takes significant steps to rebuild her career after previous failures. Her new journey at LLIT allows her to showcase her talent in technology and gaming design, while also confronting her fears of failure.
Rishi’s involvement in the “Betterverse” project reflects his evolving character. He seeks to create a space where people can connect authentically through virtual reality. However, this endeavor also brings its own set of challenges and compromises.
Supporting characters like Anmol (Taaruk Raina) and Celina (Muskkaan Jaferi) continue to deal with their personal battles, adding depth and relatability to the narrative. Their arcs explore issues like healing from past trauma and embracing one’s true self.
Rithika (played by Lauren Robinson), is introduced, adding complexity to the story. Rithika’s exploration of gender identity and her dynamic with Dimple and the other students bring fresh perspectives to the series.
Mismatched Season 3 offers a blend of drama, romance, and contemporary themes. While it attempts to push boundaries by tackling ambitious ideas, the core of the story remains rooted in the relatable struggles of young adults navigating life and love in a competitive, tech-driven world.
